Lucky Buckets Summer League 2025 Basketball
JUNE 16TH UPDATE:
Good Morning Lucky Bucketers!
We are excited to kick the league off next week with evaluations, and league play the following week. As such, each age group has important information below and should be reviewed with and emphasis on detail to ensure clarity.
Grade 9-12 Girls: We do not have enough girls to run the league after last Thursday's deadline, and thus will be issuing a full refund to all those who registered in by the end of this week.
Grade 6-8 Girls & Grade 6-8 Boys:
Reviewing the group here, there is a good mix of athletes currently registered - we are opening up registration for this group to see if we can evenly split out the groups into 3x3 teams and play that way. As such, registration will open until eval day (see below for updated schedule).
Should we not have enough to split by gender, we will play Co-Ed 3x3 teams and games

As such, we plan to have the top Grade 8 boys in the group play in a grade 8-10 Boys Division, mixing with the high school aged athletes because of the talent disparity of Grade 8 boys as currently registered.
This then means we will have a Grade 8-10 boys division and a grade 10-12 boys division, with the top grade 10's playing up with the 11's and 12's.
As it stands this would mean 4-5 teams per age group depending where final numbers settle and number of Grade 8's/10's we decide to move up.
A schedule has been attached (note the girls Grade 6-8's being involved on Mon/Wed now instead of Tues/Thurs to accommodate the majority of athletes in that age category)
Evaluation Schedule: June 25th - All At The University of Regina Please arrive 15 mins early for check in.
- Grade 8-10 Boys 5:30-7:30pm Yellow Gym
- Grade 6-7 Boys and Grade 6-8 Girls - 5:30-7:30pm Green Gym
- Grade 10-12 Boys 7:30-9:30pm Yellow Gym (note Grade 10's attending this group will be emailed directly to let them know to attend the older group vs. the younger group)
From this point the following schedule will be kept (barring a large registration increase)
Starting July 2nd, and following Mon/Wed scheduling.
5:30-7:00 - Grade 6-8 Boys and Girls
7:00-8:30- Grade 8-10 Boys
8:30-10:00 Grade 10-12 Boys
This schedule is for both practice and game scheduling. The first game day will be Wednesday July 9th, with each team getting 2 practices on Wednesday July 2 and Monday July 7th before their first game day.
We have also extended the game play option to be played 1 full fiba game per game night, instead of shortened modified games. This means 4 x10 minute quarters, stop time, and the like.

Based on registration, there will be capped groups for each of the following divisions.
