Regina Catholic School Division (RCSD) is pleased to announce a long term partnership with Saskatchewan based company, Golden Ticket Sports. The partnership will involve the creation of the first division wide elementary Basketball Academy, specifically focused for students in Grades 5-8.

The program will be lead by Golden Ticket Sports High Performance Coaches at 7 different host RCSD Elementary schools over the course of the school year. Starting in September 2022, and ending June 1st.

Students will take part in the program twice per week per grade grouping (Grade 5/6 and Grade 7/8) with 60 minute sessions being ran by Golden Ticket High Performance coaches. The program feature 60 sessions over the course of the 2022-2023 school year. 

The programs goal is to provide student athletes with a high performance coaching, fostering a love for the sport leading to great start to their school day.

Golden Ticket Sports has had success running similar programs with both Lloydminster Public and Catholic School Divisions, as well as Moose Jaw Holy Trinity and Prairie South. 

We are pleased to announce that the registration has been opened up to the ALL RCSD schools - co host schools remain the same, the schools below will be including on busing opportunity. Schools outside of the list below will be offered a $200.00 refund on the program in lieu of having access to busing.

Golden Ticket Sports Co-Owner Tanner Brightman will serve as program director and lead coach for one region. Coach Brightman will be assisted by other high performance coaches specializing in Basketball, youth development, and growing the love of the sport. Each region will have one lead coach, and assistant coach(es) - dependent on registration numbers. 



Program outcomes

The program outcomes for the RCSD Basketball Academy are as follows:

1) Create lifelong sport lovers, at every level through great coaching and programming - We believe great coaches fuel great student athletes.

2) Develop students who are athletes, leaders, followers, and contributors to their community through lessons learned in the program.

3) More skillful student athletes in the sport of Basketball/Multi Sport Application.


Cost of Program: $1350.00 + GST and Processing Fee. Parents will have the option to pay this in one payment, or two payments before January 1st, 2023.

Schools outside of the busing program will be offered a $200.00 refund on the program in lieu of having access to busing.

This 60 - 1 hour sport sessions from September - May (No programming in December or June).

This cost includes all transportation, coaches, program supplies, and academy clothing for student athletes.

Should there be student athletes who are unable to afford this program, but deserve the opportunity to be involved, we will open a student nomination program for students to be nominated by their families, teachers, and coaches. This could lead to a reduced cost, or full program fee being covered by exterior funding.

Capacity will be capped at 25 students per grade grouping/per host school.

Refund Policy: 

In the event of an athlete leaving the program, the following will take place:

A non refundable $600.00 will be held at time of registration. This is not refunded at any period, regardless of reason.

  • Athletes will keep their gear, and report card should they drop out of the program

Drop out of program before Nov 1 =

750.00 if full payment has been made.

150.00 if on payment plan.

Drop out of program from Nov 1 - January 1

450.00 if full payment has been made.

No Refund if on payment plan

Drop out of program after January 1

No refund.
